Interview Modes

Choose between voice and text interview modes for each posting.

Each posting can be configured for either voice or text interviews.

Voice Interviews

  • Candidate speaks with an AI interviewer via their microphone
  • Requires a desktop computer with a working camera and microphone
  • Mobile devices are blocked (shows "Desktop Required" screen)
  • Camera is used for integrity monitoring only — no video is recorded or stored
  • Has idle auto-end: if the candidate is silent for too long, the interview ends automatically
  • Powered by Retell AI with GPT-4.1

Text Interviews

  • Candidate types responses in a chat interface
  • Works on both desktop and mobile devices
  • No camera or microphone required
  • No idle auto-end (no per-minute cost for text)
  • Same AI model and scoring as voice — just a different input method

Changing the Mode

You can change the interview mode when creating or editing a posting. The mode applies to all candidates on that posting — you cannot mix modes within a single posting.
