Creating Custom Competencies

Create your own competencies tailored to your organization's needs.

You can create custom competencies that are private to your organization.

Manual Creation

  1. Go to Settings > Competencies
  2. Click "New Competency"
  3. Fill in:
    • Name — the competency name
    • Category — Behavioral, Situational, or Technical
    • Description — what this competency measures
    • Behavioral Anchors — define what each score level (1-5) looks like
  4. Click "Save"

Editing and Archiving

  • Click any custom competency to edit it
  • Click "Archive" to remove it from active use (it won't appear in posting forms, but existing postings using it are unaffected)
  • You cannot edit or archive platform competencies

Using Custom Competencies

Custom competencies appear alongside platform competencies in the posting form's competency dropdown. They work identically — the AI interviewer and scorer treat them the same way.
